The 'Core Herd' moved to their Winter Grazing

It's been a dull one here today, drizzle and mist all day, but are we down-hearted ?, are we hell as like !.....

There is no point in being miserable just because the weather is. Anyway, we had too much to do today to be miserable. First thing was weaning a mid fawn male cria, called Wellground Redwood. He is a lovely lad by Cambridge Buckingham and out of a Jolimont Gianmarco female. But did he moan and go ? Goodness me what a palaver he made. He is settling a bit this evening.

Having weaned we moved all the remaining females, and those who still have cria at foot to our winter grazing land adjoining our farm The grass is only grazed by our own alpacas, and left for hay making for the rest of the year. Fortunately we are the only people who ever have any stock on that land. It hasn't been grazed since last Christmas, the grass is very lush. The girls went bonkers. One look at their new home with all that lovely grass and they were all pronking round like crazy. A delight to watch.

If you are tuning in for news, looking to see what is happening here, you'll have to wait until tomorrow..... You'll just have to be patient.

Now come on, Rob!
What are you up to?
The suspense is killing us and we are beginning to make some rather surreal guesses!
Are you branching out into pygmy goats, ostriches or even Kune Kune?!!

The thought that we are branching out into another livestock venture should leave your minds for ever. Certainly not into Kune Kune Pigs ande definately never Pygmy Goats. That's for sure ;o))

I didn't say the news was exciting did I ?

You'll have to be patient for one more day......
